Monastery of Panagia Tourliani

Major attraction for the region, is the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani, according to the tradition the monastery was built in 1542 by refugees monks from Paros island, who sought asylum in Mykonos. The monks fled to the upper side of the island, at the small church of Panagia, where Nun Tourla served. The monastery was renovated in 1757 - 1767 by the monk Ignatius Basoula and acquired its present form. Visitors can admire the great architectural of the monastery and the Museum, with many important religious relics etc.
